BLANK
a deep slate
Welcome to the section that elaborate on my writing. From work written but not included in the video project to work started out of inspiration from the experience. Blank has no expectations or set rules.
Much like the 500-year-old slate down 500 ft below the parking lot at Slate Mountain, this is intended to dive deep below the surface of what I experienced in Wales. From writing style to emotions and topics yet to be expressed.
Here vs There
Beyond lists
To live in Lampeter is to wake to freshly made Welsh cakes steaming up the glass case at Y Becws minutes before it opens.
Where I come from, I’m surrounded by rows of townhomes & mansions barricading the disfunction indoors.
To live in Lampeter is to ride the carousel of faces in a 3-street roundabout.
Where I come from, I’m a stranger to “friendly” neighbors who inhabit their inherited childhood homes.
To live in Lampeter is to stroll for your every need between the hours of 9 to 5. Sometimes a little before or after. Maybe not those hours at all, but never outside them.
Where I come from, I’m a passenger in a 20-minute drive to visit all the shops, any hour of the day.
To live in Lampeter is to visit Wales under brightly lit clouds, casting an over wash to edit the view.
Where I come from, I’m suffering through all 4 seasons in one day, repeating without order. Like someone put the weather on shuffle.
To visit Wales is to dive through deep history imbedded in every trade.
Where I come from, we’re invaded by industry. Consumerism making every value fade.
